Atelier Blumenthal offers 7 main dress designs, “Made-to-Measure.”
Want something different?
Whether you want a wedding dress or a caftan to lounge in, we can make it to your standards.
First, we understand the general design you are after- is it modeled after a Dior dress or friends, or maybe you have a dress in your head that you’ve never seen anyone design!
Second, we take your measurements. Third, we choose the appropriate fabric for your dress and then the trimmings.
After that’s all decided, Claire takes the measurements and fabric to her master cutter to create the dress of your dreams.
With a quick turnaround, Claire returns to your home or office and does the first fitting. Then takes the dress to a local seamstress to take care of the final fitting, and voila, you have your dress!
Claire is with you every step of the way, ensuring the dress fits your needs and is of quality fabric and fit.

By Appointment Only.
This is where it all begins; the starting point — an open and relaxed
conversation to gauge your needs and help you make informed decisions
at your own pace. Here, every detail is discussed before progressing to
the next stage. You may have an initial idea of what you want, and I’ll be
happy to build upon that, guiding you towards your ideal final product. If
you're less certain about your needs, that’s okay too. I can suggest
bespoke designs to complement your form and taste.
-
The Fit.
I believe that elegance goes hand in hand with comfort. Measuring for a
garment with an impeccable fit involves more than just running a tape measure
around you. What I will be doing is interpreting your body shape, and
combining this with precise measurements to allow for subtle differences
that would otherwise be missed. No two individuals are the same, and
everyone’s needs and wishes vary.
-
The Selection.
Here we’ll need to discuss fabrics. Our decision will be influenced by your
reason for purchase, your budget, climate, and even your size. I will be
suggesting a range of suitable fabrics, allowing you to focus on the
personal elements that make your outfit unique—trimmings, inner
linings, button and embellishment selection, cloth pattern, and colour.
-
The Construction.
Once we’ve helped you select your fabric and we have the overall finished
look conceptualized and taken your measurements, the fabrics are
promptly sent to our cutting rooms. Our turnaround time
approximate between 24 hours – 7 weeks, depending on the work involved and which city you reside in.
-
The Fitting.
An appointment is then arranged to check the fit with you before
proceeding to make the final changes and adjustments.
-
The Completion.
Your ensemble is nearing completion, but some important details still need
to be taken care of to ensure a perfect fit. In the first fitting at a place of your
choosing, we assess which tweaks are required. After a day or two of fine-tuning,
we arrange a second fitting. If you are happy with the product after this
fitting, you’ll be able to take your new garments home. However, if more
needs to be done, we’ll gladly do it — tailoring is a constant pursuit of
perfection. We’ll never send a client off with a garment we’re not completely
happy with. We keep a detailed record of all measurements and any
adjustments made throughout, helping to ensure a more fluid and seamless
experience the next time you order from Atelier Blumenthal
